Josephine Conen (b. 1995) is a German-Dutch visual artist and researcher based in Berlin. Her work investigates ecological urgencies and planetary transformations. Working from sensory attention as a mode of inquiry for grappling with environmental uncertainty, she engages with questions of intergenerational transmission and ecological memory through fieldwork, scientific inquiry, site-specific recordings and materialities. These encounters are translated into moving image pieces and installations, extending into writing and choreographic approaches. Following a background as a film producer, she holds a Master's in Geo-Design from Design Academy Eindhoven.
